Marvel Studios’s Captain Marvel film is due out next spring, and, although it is one of the Marvel Cinematic Universe’s most anticipated films to date, there has been some uproar over the uniform Carol Danvers would be wearing. Previous behind the scene set leaks showed star, Brie Larson, in an all green Kree battle uniform, and not her comic traditional red and blue outfit. While the green Kree uniform is also comic accurate, fans want to see the Captain Marvel they all know and love.
Well, thanks to a particular magazine cover posted over on Reddit, we may be able to put this squabble to rest.
YES! It’s our turn! Our #CaptainMarvel starts to shine on the cover of brazilian comicbook/movie magazines!!

As seen on a Portuguese publication called Mundos dos Super-Herois, a picture of concept art from the upcoming 1990’s origin film dons the cover, showing the costume that fans wanted all along. While the article inside doesn’t tell us much as to when the traditional costume will make its appearance in the film, it will most likely be revealed towards the end of the film, if not in a post credits scene that sets up Captain Marvel’s arrival in the still untitled Avengers 4.
It should be noted that in the Avengers: Infinity War post credit scene, where Nick Fury calls for Danver’s help before turning to dust himself, that her red and blue logo appear on the cosmic pager. This would suggest that Fury gets to see this updated look, apart from her green Kree uniform, sometime during her origin movie.
As far as the film itself goes, screenwriter Geneva Robertson-Dworet and producer Nate Moore are excited for this one of a kind MCU film.
“We really were bringing so much of what was already in the comics onto the screen, it felt like, in terms of the amazing character who’s so funny and sassy and talks back, and she’s fearless. I love that Carol Danvers is so funny. She has a blast when she kicks ass. Those comics are amazing! It’s an amazing world and sandbox to play in. You’re working with incredible creative people, every day. I had a total dream experience.”
He added:
“I think the way the film opens is much different than an origin movie, and because she is a heroine that you haven’t seen before, we’re able to tell this story structurally in a way that will feel unexpected and hopefully will keep audiences off balance. Still balanced enough that they can enjoy the film, but even just making it a period film is sort of interesting in that it’s not just a function of the world as we know it in the MCU today.”
Captain Marvel hits theaters March of 2019, just before the epic finale of Avengers 4.
