Avengers: Infinity War featured more than a few surprises, but one thing that surprised many fans was that the film’s villain, Thanos, was already well aware of who Tony Stark/Iron Man was. In the film, Stark himself is caught off guard by this revelation, but then again – he’s Thanos. He probably knows quite a bit. One of the film’s co-directors, Joe Russo, recently revealed some backstory behind that scene.
While speaking on the film’s commentary, Russo said:
“[He’s] aware of Stark from the original Battle of New York as the person who undid the plan.”
He added:
“The journey that Tony’s been on as a genius scientist is that the evolution of his armor. This is the best it’s ever gonna get for Tony and it’s nanotech. He goes to the cutting edge of what his mind can deliver, and it still is not enough to beat Thanos. In fact, it barely keeps him in the fight.”
Quite a few interesting questions have already been answered since the release of the film on digital, and we’re guessing the Blu-ray will be packed with even more stuff for MCU fans to dissect and go over before the next film is released.
As far as Iron Man goes, we know that he will play an important part in taking down the big bad villain in Avengers 4, and some have suspected he will be using a Thanos Buster. That of course, is just a theory, but a very interesting and exciting one at that.
We’ll know for sure when Avengers 4 hits theaters everywhere on May 3rd, 2019.
