During a trip to Sardinia in Italy with his wife and children, George Clooney was involved in a motor accident. An Italian newspaper, Corriere Della Sera, obtained security footage of the incident, in which you can see the 57 year old actor collide with a car. He is then thrown into the air before landing on the ground. You can watch the video here:
TMZ have reported that Clooney was travelling at 60mph at 8:15am on Tuesday when he collided with the vehicle. He was thrown 20 feet into the air and the impact of his helmet on the car’s windscreen shattered the glass and broke his helmet. Following the crash he was taken, via air ambulance, to John Paul II Hospital. Italian Newspaper, La Nuova Sardegna reported that he suffered from “slight trauma to the pelvis and bruises to one leg and an arm,” and after having an MRI scan, he was released from hospital hours later.
He did not suffer any major injuries and a representative for the actor told People that he “was treated and released from an Olbia hospital. He is recovering at home and will be fine.”
Two days after the incident Clooney and his family were pictured boarding a private jet out of Sardinia. You can see the images, tweeted by TMZ, below:

These are the first pictures to emerge of the family following the accident. Spanish tabloids gathered outside the hospital following the incident but he and his wife reportedly left through a side exit. In the photo’s the actor appears to be in some pain when boarding the aircraft.
This isn’t the first motorcycle accident the actor has been involved in. In 2007 he was hit by a car whilst riding a motorcycle in New Jersey and suffered from a broken rib. Sarah Larson, his then partner, was riding pillion and suffered a broken foot.
The actor was reportedly in Sardinia filming for the Hulu miniseries, Catch 22, based on the 1961 novel of the same name. He is certainly lucky that his injuries weren’t a lot worse, lets hope he has a speedy recovery.
