The Pet Sematary remake, based on the iconic Stephen King novel, is due to be released on April 5th, 2019. Filming has recently begun under the direction of Dennis Widmyer and Kevin Kolsch. Jason Clark and Amy Seimetz are set to play Louis and Rachel Creed while Judging Crandall will be played by John Lithgow.
Paramount have also revealed who will be playing the Creed children. Jeté Laurence is cast as Ellie Creed, the cute young girl that adores Winston Churchill or ‘Church’, her cat. This feline is important to the story, as you will know if you have read the book or seen the original adaptation.

Ellie has a little brother, a toddler named Gage. He will be played by 3 year old twins Hugo and Lucas Lavoie. Pet Sematary will be the first movie that the twins feature in.
The adaptation was penned by Jeff Buhler and the official synopsis has been released and reads as follows:
“Based on the seminal horror novel by Stephen King, Pet Sematary follows Dr. Louis Creed (Clarke), who, after relocating with his wife Rachel (Seimetz) and their two young children from Boston to rural Maine, discovers a mysterious burial ground hidden deep in the woods near the family’s new home. When tragedy strikes, Louis turns to his unusual neighbour, Jud Crandall (Lithgow), setting off a perilous chain reaction that unleashes an unfathomable evil with horrific consequences.”
The previous adaptation from 1989 and its 1992 sequel didn’t too exceptionally well. However, after the success of the first IT movie and the excitement over the release of IT: Chapter 2 next year, big things are to be expected for this version.
