When Avengers: Infinity War ended, many fans sat in awe wondering what just happened to their brains. Although we were aware that this film was going to be mind blowing, we had no idea that the film would shock the world the way it did. Even actors who were in Infinity War, felt the same way and one of them was none other than Dave Bautista. The Drax actor kept himself in the dark so that he could feel the same feeling we all did in the theater. Recently, however, the actor let some important information slip about his future in Avengers 4.
In an interview with Collider where he discussed Hotel Artemis for the majority, he was able to give a short 5-minute discussion about Infinity War and his feelings during and after the film. As well as his disbelief of how it all came together.
“I thought it was an incredibly well put together film, it just had so much heart to it. I mean, a lot more heart to it than I thought”
He continued with explaining how it made him feel:
“It was hard to digest at first, I knew they were gonna leave you hanging, but I didn’t know they were gonna stick it to you like that.”
It is no surprise to the Marvel Fandom that Bautista is one of them and likes to keep himself in the dark, including not reading the entire script. It was nice to know that even he was brought down into a world of confusion by this ending.
Bautista however, informs the universe now that he will be in Avengers 4, and Guardians of the Galaxy 3. He explained that after his friends and family saw the film he received many texts about his part and his death so he let his friends and family know he was safe.
“They were really like heartbroken and I was like ‘I’m gonna be in four. I’m gonna be in Guardians 3.’ I don’t know how they’re bringing me back, yeah but somehow I’m going to make it because, as far as I know, I am going to be in Guardians 3, so I have to be back.”
You may be thinking, SPOILER ALERT, but the reality is, with movies involving these characters coming out within the next few years, something needs to happen. Bautista also discussed why he didn’t feel saying this was a spoiler. He has said before he is part of both Infinity War and Avengers 4, and not to mention – he is not the only character that passed, that has an upcoming film. I’m looking at you, Spider-Man: Homecoming sequel.
“That’s the only reason I’m not so concerned about giving any spoilers or giving anything away that Marvel would be mad because I said before, before the film even came out, that I’ve already filmed three and four, so I hope they won’t be p****d and if they are, I’m gonna get an earful. I don’t know how they’re gonna put this all together. I don’t know how its gonna pan out and how it’s all going to turn out.”
Later in the interview, Bautista discussed the re-shoots for Avengers 4 that will be happening this September and how he thought he knew the ending of the film – but apparently, that is what is being re-shot. He also said that actors that read the script saw a different film on screen, so regardless, Marvel was doing what they do best and keeping everyone in dark and misguided.
