Ryan Reynolds seems to be embroiled in some “bitter ex” drama and it looks like that ex just can’t seem to let things go…
We’ve all been there. You’re in a relationship that starts out great. Friends and family try to warn you that it’s not going to work and it’s a volatile relationship, but you don’t listen. You’re blinded by love. You move in together and establish a connected life with one another, so much so that you even get engaged!. But, as time goes by, you learn that the people around you were right all along. Your partner starts to nag at you for the littlest things, questioning everything you do, and nitpicking everything they originally said they loved you for.
Eventually, the relationship collapses into a terrible and scarring (and very public) breakup. Now, you have to find a new place to live, box up your stuff, and figure out who’s getting the dog. You fall into a deep depression and think you’ll never love again. But, one day, you stumble across your true love and finally are able to see what you truly deserve in life. And that’s when the ex comes roaring back, jealous of your happiness, and demanding things back that are yours, the ring that was supposed to be a symbol of your conjoined admiration and love.
Okay, okay, maybe I’m projecting a little bit here, but I’m not the only one. Apparently, Warner Bros. is not happy with former Green Lantern star Ryan Reynolds’ current Deadpool success (and probably the constant jabs at the box office flop). So much so that they’re demanding their ring back.
Deadpool 2 is out to critical acclaim and projected to make 150 million dollars its opening weekend. That’s more than the $116 million that Green Lantern brought in in its entirety. In both Deadpool films, Reynolds threw some serious shade at the much aligned DCEU film. So, in an apparent fit of jealous rage (or, more than likely, a fun little tease amongst friends), Tomar-Re of the Green Lantern Corp, at Warner Bros. behest, is asking for the Power Ring of the Green Lantern Corp back from Ryan Reynolds.
Sorry @VancityReynolds, we’re going to need the ring back. pic.twitter.com/dPyfsRPUYg

Reynolds, never one to miss a beat, responded the best way possible with the tweet, “If we’d used a NuvaRing in the first place, we wouldn’t be in this mess.”
Well, if we’d used a NuvaRing™️ in the first place, we wouldn’t be in this mess. #deadpool2

Of course, the NuvaRing is a form of birth control, stating that maybe this “baby” of a film never should have happened in the first place…
