Aquaman is set to be released December 21st, of this year and during CinemaCon some were graced with some footage of the upcoming film. Although it is not as highly anticipated as IT: Chapter 2 or the upcoming Avengers: Infinity War, the reviews suggest that we should be getting excited for what is to come.
The DC Extended Universe is not going to be pumping out movies as much as they have been while the redirect their path for their films and most likely work harder on bringing us the films we deserve but didn’t know we needed. However, with Aquaman’s release slated for later this year, fans are gearing for the stand-alone film directed by James Wan.
We are unsure if those who did not attend CinemaCon will be able to see the same footage as those who were there, but we have seen the twitter reviews of some of those who have been able to see it. It seems the on going reshoots and DCEU’s not so wonderful past of flicks hasn’t stopped them from bringing us a film that is “epic” with Aquaman looking “bad-ass”.
AQUAMAN footage had the character in a submarine ship, stopping a sword, and a few small action clips. #WB #DC #WarnerBros #CinemaCon #CinemaCon2018

Just saw snippets of Aquaman footage in a Warner Bros 2018 sizzle reel. He looks super bad-ass and fun.
Momoa kicks chunks of metal at people in s submarine and catches swords with his bare hands (on their sharp ends). #CinemaCon

Opening #CinemaCon sizzle for had a little bit of footage from all of WB’s 2018 releases, including #Aquaman: “I’m a blunt instrument and I’m damn good at it.”
Also really intrigued by Bradley Cooper’s #AStarIsBorn. Barely even recognized Lady Gaga pic.twitter.com/Ud72qo4Ues— ErikDavis (@ErikDavis) April 24, 2018
Just saw a little intro sizzle reel for the WB panel and yes, some #Aquaman footage was shown, including a fight scene with what appears to be Black Manta. I’m sure we’ll see some more here shortly, so stick around #CinemaCon

A work in progress $Aquaman teaser was screened. Showed the huge underwater city of Atlantis, globetrotting locations, a massive undersea battle Braveheart style with sea people, sea creatures. Looks pretty cool. #CinemaCon

EXTREMELY pre-visual teaser of Aquaman was shown! Including looks at Black Manta and Ocean Master. #WB #CinemaCon

Warner Bros. just showed the first Aquaman trailer: looks epic.
Patrick Wilson looks great at Ocean Master. There’s a massive war with men riding sharks fighting a foot army. And Black Manta looks brilliant. The Black Manta we deserve is coming! #CinemaCon

The movie is set to star Jason Momoa as Aquaman himself, Amber Heard as Mera, Nicole Kidman ast Queen Atlanna, and Patrick Wilson as Orm/Ocean Master among others. If DCEU flops at this film (which is unlikely) we may see a hold on future some of their anticipated films, but James Wan is working hard to please the Warner Bros. Studios and bring the fans one heck of an adaption of Aquaman.
We highly doubt the footage released at CinemaCon is going to be released to the public any time soon, but if we base off just the reviews, it seems Wan is doing something great!
