Everyone seems to be caught up in the hype for IT and its upcoming sequel, both of which are adaptations of Stephen King’s iconic story. As such, everyone seems to be referencing Pennywise and his horrific story in all forms of pop culture. This applies to the video game industry as well, seeing how Ubisoft referenced IT in Far Cry 5.
As of right now, there are only two known Easter eggs; both of which hint at Pennywise with his trademark red balloon and the sense that something dark and evil is going on behind the scenes.

The first Easter egg actually makes use of a sewer entrance by marking it with a red balloon. It’s an obvious reference that’s sure to catch the attention of any Stephen King fan.
“To find the first one, players need to head east from the crop circle in John’s region and they will come across a sewer pipe with a red balloon floating in front of it.”

The next secret is a little more direct, even referencing a particular “clown”.
“O’Hara’s Haunted House can be found in Faith’s region, just northwest of Dead Man’s River. Complete the prepper stash mission here by climbing into the second floor of the house, turning the power on, entering the barn, and walking through the haunted house attraction full of jump scares. At the end of the haunted house, players will find another red balloon, along with an interesting note sitting on the chair.”
Far Cry 5 is currently out on all formats, so who knows; maybe you’ll be able to discover some more IT references? Quite a few other Easter Eggs have already been found.
