The Meg is coming closer to theaters and there has been very little promotion regarding the release of the film. For a sizable shark, it’s bound to have its fin rear eventually to the surface and lo and behold, our first look is quite an impressive one.
Entertainment Weekly spoke exclusively to Jason Statham about his preparation for the role by swimming alongside bull sharks, describing the moment of surrounding himself in the habitat of the three-meter fish as “spectacular”. Promoting the movie, the film also provided EW a bonus promotional photo, depicting the size of the shark.
The recently released picture depicts the scale of the titular prehistoric shark, with hundreds of people floating above the 75-foot titan. You can notice the scale of the gargantuan much easier this way and the kind of threat Statham’s character is to take on.

There is also a high quality version of the photo in Entertainment’s original article.
Steve Alten, the original author of the novel the film is based on Meg: A Novel of Deep Terror, has stated that the two trailers are finished and that they are “excellent”. He has also mentioned that footage has not been made public due to the fact that Warner Bros. does not wish to have the trailer be released too far in between the release of the film. We will, however, be having our first look at the trailer this month.
Stay tuned for any updates on the trailer. The Meg is unleashed August 10th.
