We have come a long way from the days where you would turn on your radio or black and white television to be entertained. We now have a wide variety of things that have opened up for us including streaming. There are many programs to choose from like Crave TV and Netflix, but with those around it is leaving the old programs fighting to come back into the light. That is when we welcome YouTube Originals – and specifically, a new show called Impulse from Doug Liman.
As you can see in the trailer below, it surrounds itself around the main girl not fitting into her new town. The director of The Bourne Identity had their hand in this so that is a positive and the trailer doesn’t seem all bad, but it does seem like a story we have all heard before.
In the upcoming YouTube Red Original Drama Series IMPULSE, 16-year-old Henry Coles is an outsider in her new town of Reston, New York. With a major chip on her shoulder and no friends, she remains withdrawn and isolated, but everything changes when a traumatic encounter with a classmate triggers something deep within Henry— unleashing a power she cannot control.
You mean, someone moves to a new town and doesn’t fit in and have a teenaged size chip on their shoulder? Original may not be the correct term for that story. However, they do seem to show enough to grasp that she will get herself into some major trouble with what seems to be bad people and that her father may be the source to some of her issues, possibly. According to the IMDB page, she does discover she has teleportation, which is pretty awesome in my opinion, never having to buy a plane ticket again? Score…
Look for it on YouTube this coming summer, 10 episodes will be available, all an hour long.
