A Quiet Place, the new horror movie from John Krasinski, is starting to become one of the more anticipated movies of the year. The first trailers are bizarre, and don’t really give too much away, which just adds to the mystery of the film. Now, anticipation for the film is going to be even higher – as it currently sports a 100% on Rotten Tomatoes at the time of writing this article. Critics who have seen the movie have offered some very high praise.
RogerEbert.com: A tight thrill ride-the kind of movie that quickens the heart rate and plays with the expectations of the audience, while never treating them like idiots. In other words, it’s a really good horror movie.
Variety: Sometimes, getting on the clever/whatever wavelength of a horror film and just rolling with can be a part of the fun. “A Quiet Place” is that kind of movie.
IndieWire: Directed with first-rate visual flair by John Krasinski (who knew?), this riveting near-silent thriller exudes the despair of a broken world with the concision of a Cormac McCarthy novel folded into a simplistic B-movie premise.
Hollywood Reporter: Even moviegoers who don’t accept the metaphor are going to have the pants scared off them.
Thrillist: In true Twilight Zone fashion, A Quiet Place delivers its creepy goods in a remarkably smooth and efficient manner.
IGN: Anchored by propulsive performances and a simple but effective premise, A Quiet Place firmly establishes John Krasinski as a director to watch.
SlashFilm: It’s technically polished and visually elegant, and it’s the rare modern creature feature where we get a really, really good look at the bad guys. And damn, do they look good.
The Verge: Even though some of its parts don’t quite fit together, A Quiet Place is unique high-concept science fiction that’s grounded solidly in human drama.
Mashable: This may not be the deepest or most ambitious horror movie in recent memory — there’s not much here beyond that brilliantly simple core concept. But as a delivery vehicle for sheer, visceral terror, it’s one of the most brutally effective.

A QUIET PLACE: who would’ve thought John Krasinski had an all-timer horror picture in him? One of best mainstream creature features in years with a wild pure cinema experimental streak. What a brilliant bit of a genre cinema that’s equal parts Spielberg and Romero. #SXSW2018

A Quiet Place had me jerking in my seat throughout the whole movie. A lot of jumpy moments, incredibly executed performances and a well crafted story of a family trying to survive. This movie was bananas! #SXSW #BGNSXSW

A QUIET PLACE: Holy moly what a ride! I now suspect @johnkrasinski to be a cruel human, because he absolutely tortures the audience… albeit in a wonderful, terrifying & emotional way. I barely breathed throughout the whole film 😱 #SXSW pic.twitter.com/e4jA528Dbp
