Deadpool is well known in the film industry for its witty main character and gory kill scenes. It left fans laughing and happy and was no surprise when they announced Deadpool 2. As of now it is unnamed and not testing well amongst fans, but that is not leaving the crew or cast feeling hopeless. They are simply holding themselves up by saying that the script is going to differ greatly from the first film.
Josh Brolin, who will be playing the role of Cable, recently spoke about how fun and fresh this movie shall be because of the differences from the two films.
“Deadpool [2] I know is going to be very fun and funny and fresh because it’s very different from the first Deadpool.”
With the reassurance from cast members, fans are hopefully resting easy on the fact that their sarcastic humor filled Deadpool will still charm them from the big screen but what does this mean for the movie itself?
Zazie Beetz who will be playing the role of Domino, recently had similar comments on how she feels and brings to light that the themes are darker and heavier. She also refers to her character and how she enjoyed playing Domino.
“In Deadpool 2, I think we go heavier than the first one did. Like Atlanta, the themes are darker. I liked playing this woman who could meet Deadpool face-to-face and toe-to-toe. In terms of our wit and our banter, we match. It really was nice to play that.”
Only time can tell how well they will be able to pull Deadpool 2 off. It would be very upsetting to fans if they are unable to fix where they are headed. It could also be possible that those who have had a chance to see it were not impressed with the changes because they simply do not like change. Recent test screenings have proved to not be doing so well – so maybe that’s the case.
Regardless, with a release date of May 18, 2018, it is not to far in our future to watch and discuss the film in all its fails or glory. We will just have to wait and see if they are able to bring us the Deadpool we all are hoping for.
What are your feelings on Deadpool 2? Even with the negative screen testing are you excited to see it? Are you hopeful for the new darker script? Tell us your thoughts in the comments!
