There’s been plenty of anticipation and interest for a new crossover that’s set to bring Sam and Dean Winchester of Supernatural fame into the Scooby-Doo universe. The episode, which will by titled Scoobynatural, was first announced last year. Now we’ve gotten our first trailer and first images from the special, and it’s definitely exciting.

The first two images are depictions of the animated Scooby-Doo style made famous in the original TV series. The third image happens to be a traditional live-action shot with Dean wearing an ascot.

While not much is known about how Sam and Dean end up in the Scooby universe, it does seem to be caused by a magical TV set. Here’s what co-showrunner Robert Singer had to say about the episode:

“Once they get over their amazement at being in the cartoon, two things happen. They say, ‘We’ve been in a situation like this before with the Trickster and I think we’re supposed to play this out.’ And then they realize they’re in a Scooby-Doo cartoon, which makes Dean incredibly excited because Scooby-Doo was his favorite cartoon growing up.”

The episode is supposed to start off as a specific one titled A Night of Fright is No Delight, but things quickly get dark and go the usual Supernatural route where the monsters are more than guys in masks.

The special finally airs March 29, so it’ll be fun to see how it ends up!
