Marvel Studios have always been about punctual and consistent releases with comic book films through the year, releasing 3 films from the MCU this year alone. With Avengers: Infinity War coming a week early on April 27th now, things are shifting to gear in preparation of the new phases and it looks like news is coming in the form of dates.
THR reports that between 2021-2022, we have a handful of untitled projects working into production for release. Whether they are sequels, spin-off titles or introducing one of the many heroes that will debut from the comics to the silver screen has yet to be confirmed.
The studio confirms these dates for the six other secret projects:
- May 7th, 2021
- July 30th, 2021
- November 5th, 2021
- February 18th, 2022
- May 6th, 2022
- July 29th, 2022
In addition, one Marvel project that was due for August 7th, 2020 has been moved to a week early with July 31st, 2020.
An interesting guess would be with the new ownership of the X-Men franchise, they could be making their debut into the universe of Avengers and the lot. Kevin Feige himself did state that plans would definitely be beyond 2019, with original parent company Fox making their own rush of films in time for it apparently. Hopefully the passion projects like New Mutants work to its favor if it turns out well, because talk of the Marvel/Fox deal might end up making or breaking some productions.
So what can we expect for the future of Marvel’s films? Well, Doctor Strange himself has already spoken about a multiverse existing within the MCU, and Valkerie sees a future of stronger female focus. All we know for certain is big expansions are coming our way.
