We’ve already gotten a variety of behind-the-scenes photos for Blumhouse’s upcoming Halloween movie. This included a look at Jamie Lee Curtis once more returning to the Laurie Strode role, albeit forty years later. Now Curtis has shared the first official promotional image from the film once again featuring her in the role of Laurie.
She really does capture the style and look of Laurie as she appeared in 1978, even if she is a few decades older. It’s a lot closer to the spirit of the original film than her appearances in Halloween: 20 Years Later and Halloween: Resurrection, so I’m all for it.
The film is also going to show us the return of Nick Castle as Michael Myers, a role he has not played since the very first Halloween film. As such a fan of the original, this is incredible news to think about. It’s a role fans never again thought he would take on, so hopefully it’s for the best.
Nick Castle and Jamie Lee Curtis aren’t also the only returning members from the original Halloween movie. John Carpenter, who directed the 1978 incarnation, is returning to executive produce and score this new installment. The movie certainly has all the right pieces to the puzzle so far, so let’s hope they continue to all fit together.
In the film which is directed by David Gordon Green from a script he co-wrote with Danny McBride…
Laurie Strode comes to her final confrontation with Michael Myers, the masked figure who has haunted her since she narrowly escaped his killing spree on Halloween night four decades ago.
Halloween returns on October 19, 2018.
