Horror films are everywhere these days, but unlike the glory days of horror, films now require a unique twist to stand out amongst the crowd. This is exactly what the new trailer for the upcoming film, A Quiet Place, is promising.
A Quiet Place features real life couple, John Krasinski (who is also behind the lens as the film’s director and responsible for a rewrite of the script) and Emily Blunt as parents desperately trying to keep their kids safe in an apocalyptic world. In the film, the family need to maintain absolute silence to keep the mysterious creatures from finding them. You can check out the trailer below.
What’s interesting is that we currently know very little of plot outside of the basic premise, and the trailer is also careful not to give us a clear look at the creatures who are hunting the family. It definitely looks as though Krasinski is set to deliver one of the creepier films of 2018, let’s just hope that the reviews say the same thing. It will certainly be interesting to see how they pull off a film which looks to be almost all silent, earlier trailers have pointed towards the family communicating via sign language, something which may be slightly jarring for an audience.
It’s actually good to see that paramount are set to release this science fiction film, given how they sold The Cloverfield Paradox to Netflix as opposed to releasing it in theatres something they have similarly done with the international distribution of Alex Garland’s next film, Annihilation. It’s good to see that we can still find science fiction on the big screen.
You can check out A Quiet Place when it is released on April 6th.
