As the release of Avengers: Infinity War gets closer, many fans are speculating as to what is going to happen in the very important Marvel Cinematic Universe movie. Beloved characters are expected to die, but no one is quite sure who – if any. Hulk actor Mark Ruffalo is now adding to the speculation, with a cryptic Facebook post he just sent out:
We actually speculated that Hulk’s end could be very near. Though – Mark Ruffalo will still be around until at least Avengers 4, as Ruffalo himself revealed back in October:
“So basically, Kevin [Feige] pulled me aside before this, and said, ‘If you were gonna do a… if we were going to do a standalone Hulk movie, what would it be?’ And I said, ‘I think it should be this, this, this, and this and this, and ends up like this.’ And he’s like, ‘I love that. Why don’t we do that in the next three movies, starting with Thor 3 and then we go into Avengers 3 and 4.’ And I was like, ‘That sounds great!’ And so we are at the beginning of this arc.”
So it’s definitely an interesting post from the actor. Hulk is just beginning to have more speaking lines, something Ruffalo enjoys:
“Hulk speaking is the start to separating of these two individuals, these identities in this split-identity person, and where that’s going to end up going. So it was really interesting to me. He’s like a baby! He’s like a five year old or six year old. So he has the same syntax, he has the same world view, and so it was fun. It’s like Chris [Hemsworth] – we all got to reinvent our characters in this.”
With many of the prominent MCU actors’ contracts expiring, who knows what the future holds at this point. As with everything Marvel related, we’ll just have to wait and see. Infinity War’s synopsis doesn’t offer much hope, though:
An unprecedented cinematic journey ten years in the making and spanning the entire Marvel Cinematic Universe, Marvel Studios’ Avengers: Infinity War brings to the screen the ultimate, deadliest showdown of all time. The Avengers and their Super Hero allies must willing to sacrifice it all in an attempt to defeat the power of Thanos before his blitz of devastation and ruin puts an end to the universe.
Infinity War hits theaters on May 4th.
