New ‘Jessica Jones’ Season Season 2 Photos Reveal Mysterious Marvel Character

    By James HaddenJanuary 26, 2018

In two months time, everybody’s favorite hard drinking Private Investigator, Jessica Jones, will be back on our screens for the second season of Marvel’s hit show. Despite being so close, we haven’t actually seen a great deal so far, but thanks to some new photos released we have our first look at one of the new characters.

The new images debuted in this month’s Empire Magazine and offer up a new look at the titular heroine – as well as several of her supporting characters. It includes our first look at Janet McTeer’s currently unnamed character. The image in question shows McTeer talking with Kristen Rytter’s Boozy Detective in a New York park. It’s previously been stated that McTeer’s character will significantly change Jessica’s world in the future.

The other images released show the character demonstrating her super strength on an armored truck of some form as well as two retuning characters, notably Eka Darville’s Malcolm and David Tennant’s sinister Kilgrave, better known to comic fans as The Purple Man. The circumstances surrounding Kilgrave’s return are still a mystery, since the character was actually killed by Jessica in the first season finale. It’s likely that Kilgrave is simply a manifestation in Jessica’s mind.

Marvel's Jessica Jones Season 2 First Look

As it stands, we don’t know a great deal about the plot of Jessica Jones Season 2 except that it is expected to see her history come back to haunt her. Speaking to Empire, the showrunner, Melissa Rosenberg revealed:

“We’re always digging deeper into Jessica’s character and this season we’re peeling back even more layers, revealing more about the experiences that have shaped her present-day life.”

Hopefully, we will find out more about what to expect as we get closer to the shows March 8th release date.
