One of the most anticipated Marvel Cinematic Universe films outside of Avengers: Infinity War would definitely have to be the Spider-Man: Homecoming sequel. Fans and critics alike enjoyed the film, and now, according to Omega Underground, filming for the sequel is set to begin pretty soon!
Omega Underground has learned that Watts could be shooting some of the sequel in Berlin, Germany again. This could explain why they might be looking at a non-American version of Gwen Stacy (rumored).
Just last month we were given the early working title for the movie, as well as a leaked audition tape for Gwen Stacy. It looks as though the movie will be quite a bit different from Spider-Man: Homecoming, which is the direction Marvel seems to be taking for a lot of their films. Speaking of different, it turns out Homecoming could have had a way different ending – according to screenwriter Jonathan Goldstein:
“That scene with the press behind the door, that started off as a more clear opportunity for Peter to say to the world, ‘I Peter Parker, am Spider-Man,’” Goldstein explained. “And he decides not to do it and walks away. It’s still that, but it had been set up that if he could just tell the world who he is, he would get all his problems solved and be loved by everyone.”
We’ll see Tom Holland’s Spider-Man next in Avengers: Infinity War, which will be a huge film – the synopsis of which reads:
An unprecedented cinematic journey ten years in the making and spanning the entire Marvel Cinematic Universe, Marvel Studios’ “Avengers: Infinity War” brings to the screen the ultimate, deadliest showdown of all time. The Avengers and their Super Hero allies must be willing to sacrifice all in an attempt to defeat the powerful Thanos before his blitz of devastation and ruin puts an end to the universe.
The Spider-Man: Homecoming sequel hits theaters on July 5th, 2019, while Infinity War will be here May 4th.
