Although cult movie fans have known about The Room for well over a decade now, the movie’s popularity has been growing thanks to James Franco’s The Disaster Artist. The movie depicts the making of The Room, and with Franco’s performance as the eccentric Tommy Wiseau, it may be the original disaster artist’s chance to properly break into Hollywood.
In fact, Wiseau has revealed to one fan on Twitter that he’s actually interested in having a role in either a DC or Marvel film production:

Both companies are some of the biggest names in Hollywood right now, so it makes sense that Wiseau would want in on the action. While he probably wouldn’t be able to pull off a starring role, it would be cool to get a cameo or two from the actor. After all, Guardians of the Galaxy included a Lloyd Kaufman cameo. So if Troma’s ringleader can get behind the camera for a Marvel film – why can’t Wiseau?
Wiseau is actually a character in Marvel Comics (per Marvel wiki):
Tommy Wiseau was an alien criminal that the Guardians of the Galaxy pursued for years. While hiding on Earth, Wiseau directed and starred in The Room, considered by many to be one of the worst movies ever made.
Meanwhile, James Franco’s The Disaster Artist is currently playing in theaters.
When Greg Sestero, an aspiring film actor, meets the weird and mysterious Tommy Wiseau in an acting class, they form a unique friendship and travel to Hollywood to make their dreams come true.
