We already knew Thanos was being prepped as the biggest villain in the Marvel Cinematic Universe, or ever, but now, we know even more – as Kevin Feige has revealed that the character does something truly terrible in Avengers: Infinity War – in the first five minutes!
During an appearance at Brazil’s Comic Con, Feige said:
“Within the first five minutes of Infinity War, people will understand why Thanos is the biggest and baddest villain in the history of the Marvel Cinematic Universe.
You know, we’ve been teasing Thanos since the very first Avengers film. Remember the end of Avengers, the very end of the movie he turns around in the chair and you realize something bad is coming. We’ve been teasing him for years and the trick is when you tease something for that long you have to deliver.”
Personally, I’ve heard from a few quality sources that a major Avenger will die at the beginning of Infinity War, and this essentially confirms it. While not sure who, speculation has pointed to Vision – but who knows at this point?
Feige has already teased an emotional film in the past, saying:
“It’ll be emotional for a lot of different reasons. As all our films try to do, we want to have the laughs, we want to have the heart, we want to have the humor, and Infinity War has all of that.”
And we already knew it would be – just from reading the film’s synopsis:
An unprecedented cinematic journey ten years in the making and spanning the entire Marvel Cinematic Universe, Marvel Studios’ “Avengers: Infinity War” brings to the screen the ultimate, deadliest showdown of all time. The Avengers and their Super Hero allies must be willing to sacrifice all in an attempt to defeat the powerful Thanos before his blitz of devastation and ruin puts an end to the universe.
The movie stars Robert Downey, Jr., Chris Evans, Chris Hemsworth, Mark Ruffalo, Jeremy Renner, Scarlett Johansson, Tom Holland, Elizabeth Olsen, Paul Bethany, Sebastian Stan, Benedict Cumberbatch, Benedict Wong, Chris Pratt, Zoe Saldana, Karen Gillan, Vin Diesel, Dave Bautista, Bradley Cooper, Pom Klementieff, and Josh Brolin as the big bad villain Thanos.
Avengers: Infinity War hits theaters on May 4th, 2018.
