Next year’s horror movie roster opens with a bang, thanks to Harrison Smith’s Death House. With the film being referred to as The Expendables of Horror, there’s a lot of anticipation for this one. And if you can’t wait for the film, there’s a brand new clip thanks to Bloody-Disgusting!
What the video shows is a brutal prison riot, which no doubt will set the events for the film into motion.
“The facility has shut down due to an internal EMP blast,” director Harrison Smith explains. “[Actors] Dee Wallace, Cortney Palm and Cody Longo are stranded in an elevator suspended 4 levels beneath Death House.”
Personally, I think the scene is pretty well-done. Maybe a little too dark but the atmosphere is certainly brutal and more focused on horror than action. I’m eager to see how the rest of the film pans out.
Death House stars Kane Hodder, Barbara Crampton, Dee Wallace, Tony Todd, Bill Moseley, Adrienne Barbeau, Michael Berryman, Felissa Rose and Sid Haig. The late Gunnar Hansen also makes a cameo appearance, having co-written the film alongside Harrison Smith.
In the film…
“Two federal agents fight their way through nine levels of Hell inside a secret prison known as the Death House. A facility-wide prison break turns their flight into a tour of horrors as they push toward the ultimate evil housed in the lowest depths of the earth.”
Death House hits Regal Cinemas on January 26, 2018.
