The latest adaptation of Stephen King’s IT is no doubt one of the biggest horror movies of all time. And everyone is getting in on the hype and having fun – including a certain writer from the likes of The Colbert Report and BuzzFeed.
The writer, Jesse McLaren, decided to play around with his sister and soon-to-be brother-in-law’s engagement photos. McLaren was asked to shoot the photos for the occasion, and upon editing them in Photoshop, he managed to sneak in images of Pennywise into all of them.
You can see some of the examples in McLaren’s tweet below.
My sister asked me to shoot her engagement pics so I hid Pennywise the Clown in every photo. Countdown until she notices. pic.twitter.com/Z7QZPsq2ym

There was certainly plenty of creativity implemented by McLaren, who managed to use both incarnations of Pennywise. In fact the images of the iconic clown were so well hidden, his sister has yet to even notice them.
It’s certainly great seeing fans come together and have so much fun with Stephen King’s iconic characters – hopefully there will be plenty of other exciting projects in the future.
As of now, the movie is already one of the highest grossing R-rated films of all time. Sue Kroll, president of worldwide marketing and distribution at Warner Bros., had this to say once the film grossed $500 million at the box office:
“Crossing $500 million is rarified air for any film, but for a horror film it is history-making, and we could not be prouder. The filmmakers and cast did more than make a box office hit; they created a communal, must-see moviegoing event that has reverberated around the globe and is still going strong. We congratulate Andy Muschietti, the extraordinary producing team, and everyone involved in ‘It’ on reaching this amazing milestone.”
The film starts as a group of young kids face their biggest fears when they seek answers to the disappearance of children in their hometown of Derry, Maine. They square off against an evil clown named Pennywise, whose history of murder and violence dates back for centuries.
IT is playing in theaters everywhere, with Chapter Two set for release September 6, 2019.
