The upcoming Venom movie with Tom Hardy has hit some bumps, with filming getting delayed a couple of times, but now, all appears like it’s moving along.
The film’s official Twitter account just posted the following:

While it’s not much to go off of, it’s good to know the film is moving ahead.
It was rumored earlier in the week that the film would follow the Lethal Protector storyline from Marvel Comics, something which would definitely make sense, since Carnage is the main villain.
Venom’s creator, Todd McFarlane told us last month that he thinks Hardy will do a good job as the character:
“It’ll be interesting. I’ve seen some movies of his where he can bring anger and a wide personality to it. To me, I think Tom Hardy’s going to be as good as whatever Venom looks like. We all know Tom’s going to act. He’s going to do a good job. So now what’s Venom gonna’ look like? It’s an R-rated movie, how “R” are they going to go? To me, that’s the question. Are they going to go a “little bit R”? Venom’s a monster to me, and to me – are they going to make him a monster or are they going to make him a man? Are they going to humanize him? That’s what we gotta’ find out.”
It’ll definitely be interesting to see how it turns out. A Venom movie without Spider-Man is definitely an interesting prospect, but with a lot of talent, an R-Rating and Carnage as the villain – it definitely has some potential.
The film is scheduled to hit theaters on October 5th, 2018.
