The new Star Wars: The Last Jedi trailer has been released – and it’s packed with tons of new footage! Fans of the franchise will definitely be even more excited:
Snoke’s voice can be heard speaking to someone about discovering the raw untamed power that dwells inside them. You might think it might be Kylo he’s talking to but I would guess it’s an attempt to misdirect the audience. He might be speaking to Rey herself.
We get Rey training with Luke Skywalker as her mentor. She appears to have a level of power that Luke has dealt with before (cough cough, Kylo) and that it didn’t scare him enough to walk away from but that might change in the case of what he sees in Rey. Rey even goes into describe something inside her that has been there since she was a child.
After that revelation, everything is kicked in high gear as we see the Rebel Alliance fight the New Order in multiple battles and it only keeps wrapping up. Poe Dameron gives us a bit of an inspirational speech.
At one point during the trailer, Kylo might be giving his mother, General Leia Organa, the same treatment he gave to his father in the Force Awakens. Another shot is Finn and Captain Phasma duking it out while a starship hunger burns in the background.
What blows my mind is that there appears to be a major battle between Luke and Rey that is sure to keep everyone on the edge of their seats. Snoke makes an appearance torturing our hero Rey, in what looks like to be an attempt to bring her to the dark side.
Lastly, we get a shot of Rey asking for guidance in this universe, cut to, Kylo extending his hand.
From what we see in the trailer, Rey may be turning to the dark side – but I would go out to say not only does this happen, but that Kylo goes back to the light as he is shown hesitation in killing his mother.
All I can say for the sure is that I am not the only one flipping backwards in excitement for this movie and that December 15th can’t come soon enough.
