It’s been 40 years since Jay Anson wrote his novel The Amityville Horror. A film adaptation was quickly rushed into production, and now, decades later, there actually exists 18 Amityville Horror films! And now Amityville: The Awakening is set to be number 19. It’ll also have the first theatrical release in the franchise since 2005 when The Amityville Horror was officially remade once and for all.

The film has seen a troubled production history. The movie was shot in 2014 with a release date set for January, 2015. But now this October it looks like we’ll finally be able to see the film – although after this many delays and reshoots I’m not sure how much of a film there is left.
In any case, with a free North American Google Play release from October 12 to November 8, and a theatrical release October 28, they’ve finally started to promote the film again. This time we get a short clip of Bella.
The plot is as follows:
Belle (Bella Thorne) and her family after they move into their new home, but when strange phenomena begin to occur in the house, Belle begins to suspect her mother (Jennifer Jason Leigh) isn’t telling her everything. She soon realizes they just moved into the infamous Amityville house where between illusion and reality lies evil.
Amityville: Awakening hits theaters October 28, with a free North American Google Play release from October 12 to November 8.
