According to TMZ, actor Harry Dean Stanton has passed away this Friday at Cedars-Sinai Hospital in L.A. Stanton is best known for having acted over six decades, in films that include Alien, Escape From New York, Repo Man, Twin Peaks: Fire Walk With Me, and so many more.
His last works were the film Lucky, and the third season of Twin Peaks where he returned to his role from the aforementioned Fire Walk With Me.
Stanton also had a taste for playing guitar, and for some time featured in his own musical group titled “The Harry Dean Stanton Band”.
In his early years he served in the US Navy throughout World War II. He worked as a cook aboard an LST during the battle of Okinawa.
He lived his life as a bachelor, but is survived by some family. In spite of this, he will truly be missed by his fans, this writer included.
