We’re currently in a day and age where everyone is very vocal about their political opinions.
Here at ScreenGeek, we don’t really post about our political views – we just post certain stories and let you, the reader, determine what you think about a certain story or subject.
The Emoji Movie doesn’t really seem like a movie that would have any type of hidden agenda. That’s because it’s aimed at kids.
However, in an interview with The Huffington Post, actor T.J. Miller had some pretty interesting comments about the film:
“This was an opportunity to do something optimistic, positivistic and you know, we have very few weapons in the current administration, and one of them is to target a younger demographic and try and help them understand and adopt progressive values.”
He added:
“The movie has a lot to say to women, and how they have limitless potential, and one of the characters literally breaks through a glass ceiling.”
The film currently sits at a 6% on Rotten Tomatoes, with a grand total of 2 positive reviews. It also has a 1.5 out of 10 on IMDb and a 9% on Metacritic.
Here’s hoping Deadpool 2 will do a lot better. Miller plays Weasel in the upcoming film and had this interesting story to tell MTV when talking about reading the film’s script in front of his wife:
“My wife turned around the corner in the hotel lobby bar in Vancouver and she said, ‘Oh my god some guy is like cackling, who’s making all that noise? That is so rude in the middle of a… Oh that’s my husband reading the Deadpool 2 script.”
He added:
“And it’s me just crying, laughing, losing my mind. I kept having to put my iPad down on the middle of the table. It’s an even more ridiculous kind of narrative that I can’t talk about at all.”
The Emoji Movie is currently playing in theaters, while Deadpool 2 is scheduled for release in 2018.
