According to Anonymous, the ever popular hacking activists, NASA is “on the verge” of announcing the existence of aliens. The Anonymous group started in 2003 across 4chan and have since become known for hacking into the websites of large organizations.
The group has now uploaded a new video (linked below) to their YouTube channel, apparently revealing that NASA will soon announce the discovery of sentient alien life. The video caption reads “NASA says aliens are coming!” and the video has since been viewed over 1.5 million times.
Their claim stems from a meeting in April of this year regarding the United States Science Space and Technology Committee. The video quotes Professor Thomas Zurbuchen, the administrator for the Science Mission Directorate. He says:
“There are many who claim that unofficially, mankind has already made contact with aliens and not just little micro-organisms floating around inside a massive alien ocean, but advanced space-faring civilizations.”
He continued:
“25 years ago, we didn’t know that planets existed beyond our solar system. Today we have confirmed the existence of over 3,400 exoplanets that orbit other suns, and we continue to make new discoveries.”
Finally, he had this to say about their missions in the last 25 years:
“Taking into account all of the different activities and missions that are specifically searching for evidence of alien life we are on the verge of making one of the most profound and unprecedented discoveries in history.”
The video goes on to suggest that NASA is slowly preparing us for what could be the biggest revelation of all: that we are not alone in the universe. But it’s also possible that Anonymous can’t be trusted regarding this supposed information – as NASA have come out and refuted the group’s claims:
“Contrary to some reports, there’s no pending announcement from NASA regarding extraterrestrial life.” wrote Thomas Zurbuchen, Associate Administrator, NASA Science Mission Directorate.
He added:
“Are we alone in the universe? While we do not know yet, we have missions moving forward that may help answer that fundamental question.”
At the very least, it’s safe to say humanity has made outstanding progress over the last several decades with space travel and increasing our knowledge of the cosmos. If there was going to be an announcement regarding the existence of alien life, I wouldn’t be surprised if it happened in our lifetimes.
