Despite Cars 3 knocking Wonder Woman off the top of the Box Office, it’s fair to say Wonder Woman has had a positive impact in female lead super heroes.
Rumor has it that that Man of Steel 2 is being developed discreetly – along with other DCEU movies. It also states that Man of Steel 2 will introduce Supergirl into the DCEU.
The rumor reads:
“The sequel to Man of Steel has been developing in secret. Geoff Johns and Zack Snyder finished writing a story for the film back in November. Multiple writers were approached to turn into a screenplay including the writers from Watchmen and the 300 movie series. Brainiac will be the villain and Supergirl will be introduced to the DCEU.”
This is just a rumor and is very unlikely to be confirmed by DC or Warner Bros. any time soon. It is, however, an interesting one, seeing as Man of Steel introduced the idea that there was already a Kryptonian alive on Earth. We watched as Clark discovered a hyper-sleep pod that had skeletons inside, all but one – which was open suggesting someone had escaped.
At the same time a prequel comic co-written by Zack Snyder, Geoff johns and David S. Goyer had Kara Zor-El land be the possible remaining Kryptonian from the ship.
It’s an interesting idea and as the popularity and support grows for the CW’s Supergirl, played by Melissa Benoist grows – it’s likely the character will at some point make an appearance. Though it will be a different actress playing the character.
Wonder Woman is still in theaters and Justice League is released November 17th.
