It sounds as Robert Downey Jr. and Chris Evans might start feeling a little rejected soon as a recent interview with Marvel’s head honcho, Kevin Feige, has revealed who the producer believes to be the best superhero, and it definitely isn’t Cap or Iron Man. Read on to find out who takes the crown.
As part of the marketing for the upcoming, Spider-Man: Homecoming, the Disney channel aired an exclusive behind the scenes look at the film titled ‘A Fan’s Guide to Spider-Man: Homecoming’ and it’s packed full of new footage and tidbits for the highly anticipated film. One such tidbit is mentioned by Feige, who reveals that the greatest superhero is in fact Spider-Man.
During the video he explains:
“Spider-Man is the biggest Marvel character. He is the jewel in the crown. Such an amazing icon. He’s a very different kind of hero because he is, quite simply, the greatest superhero of all-time.”

It is hard to argue this fact, given the incredible popularity the character has had over his fifty-five year history. In this time he has had five blockbuster films, twelve different television series and several video games spanning over fifteen different platforms.
In 2013 it was reported that retails sales for the wall-crawler came in at $1.3 Billion, that’s something you wouldn’t see in any old superhero. This also adds some credence to why Feige and Marvel made the deal with Sony, which brought the character into the MCU in last years Captain America: Civil War.
We’ll see just how great Spidey is when Tom Holland suits up as the character in Spider-Man: Homecoming when it hits theaters July 7th.
