While Baywatch is getting closer to its release date, star Zac Efron is already prepping for his next role – and it’s not exactly one you’d expect for the star.
There’s plenty of horrible people that have lived throughout history, and one of these is the notoriously disturbing Ted Bundy. As one of the world’s most iconic serial killers, it’ll be a big step for Efron in his career and potentially one that could make or break it for the future.
The film is set to follow the perspective of Elizabeth Kloepfer, Bundy’s girlfriend who denied accusations against him for years but eventually turned him in. Of course, it was only near Bundy’s execution that he admitted to the scope of his murders. And not even Kloepfer had any idea how far his trail of evil went.
Titled “Extremely Wicked, Shockingly Evil and Vile”, the film is set to be directed by Joe Berlinger. He’s best known as a documentary filmmaker, but also directed Book of Shadows: Blair Witch 2. The script was written by Michael Werwie.
Principal photography is set to start October 9, 2017, so hopefully a release date will be announced soon after. Until then, you can see Efron alongside Dwayne ‘The Rock’ Johnson in Baywatch when it hits theaters May 25th.
