With The Defenders just around the corner, it’ll be no time after that when the heroes will be going their separate ways again. Jessica Jones season two with set photos surfacing, a third season to Daredevil confirmed to happen around late 2018 at its earliest, even Punisher getting his own spin-off series shows a lot going on with the works of the Marvel Netflix branch of universes.
However, what does that leave our Power Man himself?
Well, something is definitely building up for a continuation of Luke Cage, and it seems that Shades is returning, as actor Theo Rossi made it a guarantee to be back.
Talking to Parade about his upcoming film Lowriders, the Sons of Anarchy star talked a good amount about his experience in the harsh streets of Luke Cage’s world with its first season, and finished the interview with a “what next” of his character in the show:
“Luke Cage is going down, [we’re in] season two. We’re pretty excited, it’ll be nice to get back into the swing.”
It’s kind of a giveaway that Shades would be returning to the Luke Cage story, but to hear an actual confirmation on this staples it down as official. Least we know some ideas might be getting more concrete in the writing process from here and should expect another update on a second season sooner or later.
The Defenders unites Marvel heroes Daredevil (Charlie Cox), Jessica Jones (Krysten Ritter), Luke Cage (Mike Colter) and Iron Fist (Finn Jones) as the first team-up on the Netflix television world. The series premieres August 18th.
