Yesterday, we were treated to the news that an R-Rated movie reboot of Hellboy was coming. Naturally, fans of the original films were outraged when they found out that Ron Perlman wouldn’t be playing the title character.
Ron Perlman has apparently heard the fans, and responded accordingly on Twitter:
Gettin alotta twitter love 2nite. Feelin it. Diggin it.
Much obliged, you, the faithful…

Not much is known about the upcoming reboot, other than that Neil Marshall is directing it and David Harbour will be playing Hellboy.
THR also reported the following:
Millennium is in negotiations with producers Larry Gordon and Lloyd Levin for a new installment that would reboot and relaunch the property. Mike Richardson of Dark Horse Entertainment is also producing.
Neil Marshall, the horror director who broke out with The Descent and won raves for his work on Game of Thrones, is attached to direct the project, which has a working title of Hellboy: Rise of the Blood Queen and has a script by Andrew Cosby, Christopher Golden and Hellboy creator Mike Mignola.
Both of the Hellboy movies had strong cult followings but weren’t exactly ‘smash hits’ at the Box Office. Just a couple months ago, it seemed as though there was a possibility of a third film with del Toro and Perlman, but that hope was crushed when Perlman later confirmed that it was never going to happen.
Maybe now Perlman will have time to focus on his alleged 2020 Presidential run.
