With bits and pieces of the puzzle coming together for the secretive Netflix Marvel team-up, we have no doubt it’ll definitely be a spectacle. And one of the cast members just made sure of that.
Talking with EW in a recent interview, Jessica Henwick, who plays Colleen Wing in the upcoming series, expressed her thoughts on the latest ensemble:
It’s good, it’s really good. I think people are going to love seeing characters interact with each other, they’re going to see Colleen and Misty, (actress Simone Missick), they’re going to love seeing Luke Cage with the Iron Fist, Danny Rand. I think fans are going to freak out.
It’s especially noteworthy with the connection made with Cage and Rand. Both characters were known well for their crossover comic series “Power Man & Iron Fist”. It seems those running the series are really following through with the “big team up” feel we’ve been waiting for again in a while.
With the likes of a huge ensemble being a thing in Marvel, it’s been a while since the magic was really there. Avengers back in 2012 was one of the biggest impacts in comic film history with their joining. Guardians of the Galaxy took another step with their lovable chemistry in 2014. Since then, it’s been crunch-time cameos or crossover events. Perhaps with The Defenders, we can get the true definition of a team once again and with the interaction of the characters being especially well done.
The Defenders come together August 18th. Eight episodes are expected to slot for this season.
