Everyone’s interest was piqued when Marvel Studios President Kevin Feige revealed that not only are the upcoming Avengers films no longer filming back to back, but that the fourth Avenger film still has no title because it’s a spoiler for the upcoming third one.
The next Avengers film is already titled Avengers: Infinity War, so what could be the giant spoiler in the next film’s title? It turns out Guardian’s of the Galaxy actress Zoe Saldana may have already told us.
In an interview with BBC News, Saldana was quoted as saying they are in the middle of filming “infinity war” and that “we all have to go back for gauntlet”. Is the fourth avengers film titled Infinity Gauntlet?
Unlikely, as this isn’t really a spoiler for the latest film. In fact, it just confirms what we’ve known since phase one of the MCU about Thanos and the infinity gauntlet. It seems even more unlikely when you remember how often actors in large franchise like the MCU have to sign non-disclosure agreements to ensure this exact type of thing doesn’t happen.

It’s probably that Saldana is referring to a place holder title, and that the real one hasn’t been revealed yet. It would be disappointing if it was, since it’s doesn’t tell us anything new. Marvel and Disney haven’t commented on whether Zoe Saldana misspoke or not, but it seems safe to assume the fourth avengers film’s title is still a secret.
Apparently, it isn’t as James Gunn had this to say:
“It’s not the title. My guess is that Zoe just misspoke. I’ll talk to Zoe today, but I would imagine that is just Zoe misspeaking and saying ‘Infinity Gauntlet’ instead of ‘Infinity War’.”
Damage control? Either way, We’ll find out by May, 4 2018 when Avengers: Infinity War releases.
