Ever since the reveal that Avengers 3 and 4 were no longer Infinity War Parts 1 and 2, it’s been a mystery as to what the fourth Avengers film would be called. Up until now, it’s generally been thought that the reason for the lack of a name for the fourth instalment was simply because the creators haven’t thought of one yet.
However, in a recent exchange between Kevin Feige and CinemaBlend’s Eric Eisenberg, Feige suggested that not only has the name for Avengers 4 already been decided, but that the reason why it has not been revealed yet is because it is essentially a spoiler for Avengers 3.
Here is a segment of the conversation between the two:
“(CinemaBlend): When I talked with Joe and Anthony Russo last year, I guess a couple months ago, they mentioned… we (the public) don’t know the name of Avengers 4, that they’re not going to announce it, it’s going to be a minute. I’m curious if the reason for that is because it’s a spoiler.
Kevin Feige: Yeah, for sure.”
Well, this is the internet, so of course there’s going to be a ton of speculation on what the title for Avengers 4 is, and what aspect of Avengers 3 it’ll end up spoiling. Most seem to think it’s a major character death, (either Tony Stark or Steve Rogers), or that it’ll be Thanos who will end up victorious in Infinity War, before being taken down in the fourth installment.
Personally, I don’t think it’ll be that specific a title. And be a tad subtler with its reference to the events of Infinity War. Think more along the lines of how ‘Return of the King’ technically spoils the ending to that film, it won’t be as obvious as people think it is.
