The Xenomorph is getting a new pal to help kill idiot space explorers next month.
Empire Magazine released three new exclusive images from Ridley Scott’s upcoming sci-fi epic Alien: Covenant including our first look at the Xenomorph’s smaller, paler cousin The Neomorph.
Something tells me that despite its smaller size, this guy will not be any less vicious. After you finish emptying your barf bucket, let’s discuss the next image.
Now that’s a pretty shot. It’s almost enough to give me hope that the tacky, green-screen-heavy, wet cement look of the trailer is not reflective of the visual style of the final product (seriously though… could that CGI Xenomorph look any more fake?). It’s too bad that Ridley Scott uses so much CGI these days. The visual beauty of Blade Runner is unrivaled by any sci-fi film since.
Here we have an unknown figure (Michael Fassbender’s David perhaps?) watching hundreds of pods drop down to the planet below.
And finally, we have what is for sure a shot of Michael Fassbender’s character David along with Weyland Industries CEO Peter Weyland as played by Guy Pearce.
The events of Prometheus make me believe that this is a flashback scene. Hopefully, we’ll finally give us some answers to the questions that that film raised. Since, Ridley Scott has left us hanging for five years it would be rude not to.
Alien: Covenant hits theaters stateside on May 19th.
