We were given the first trailer for Star Wars Episode VIII: The Last Jedi last Saturday, and there was a certain noticeable change with villain Kylo Ren. It appears that the scar he received during his lightsaber duel with Rey from the last film has moved. The scar originally went up his cheek, nose, and forehead which should’ve left him looking particularly deformed.
Now the scar is less severe and merely runs across Kylo Ren’s eye. It seems director Rian Johnson has offered an explanation for this change via Twitter:

Well, there you have it. The scar is simply a result of makeup artists’ preferences. And we’ll get to have an entirely new film to get used to it, not to mention the marketing push that will precede it on the way to theaters.
Star Wars Episode VIII: The Last Jedi hits theaters December 15, 2017.
What do you think of Kylo Ren’s new look? Are you okay with the changes, or would you liked to have had them stay true with what we saw in Episode VII? Let us know in the comments section below!
