After months of speculation, last week finally saw the answer to who is going to play Deadpool’s time travelling buddy, Cable in the upcoming sequel, Deadpool 2. However it looks as though the studio aren’t wasting any time on getting the film into pre-production with Josh Brolin already preparing for the role.
The first photo of the mutant character came courtesy of Brolin’s Instagram and see’s the actor having some form of makeup applied, presumably for some form of facial prosthetics for the character.

Obviously, this doesn’t actually give us an indication as to what the character’s final look will be, despite whatever the clickbait headline said to get you here, but it is good to know that film is becoming closer to reality.
This isn’t going to be Brolin’s first foray into the world of Marvel comic book characters, with the actor already in line to play the Mad Titan, Thanos in Avengers: Infinity War – and Kevin Feige was surprisingly cool with it, saying the following:
“I think he’ll make one hell of a Cable.”
As it stands, Deadpool 2 is yet to be given a release date. Hopefully this will be revealed at this summer’s Comic Con, possibly with our first look at Brolin in costume.
