The newly announced Marvel series, Inhumans, has gotten its first official synopsis!
“After the Royal Family of Inhumans is splintered by a military coup, they barely escape to Hawaii where their surprising interactions with the lush world and humanityaround them may prove to not only save them, but Earth itself.”
The first two episodes will be released in IMAX on September 1. The series will then premiere officially on ABC later in the fall with additional content.
The first two IMAX episodes will be directed by Roel Reine. Iron Fist’s Scott Buck will be the showrunner.
The series will star Anson Mount as Black Bolt, Serinda Swan as Medusa, Isabelle Cornish as Crystal, Iwan Rheon as Maximus, Ken Leung as Karnak, Eme Ikwuakor as Gorgon, Mike Moh as Triton, Sonya Balmores as Auran, Blair Redford as Thunderbird and Ellen Woglom as an unknown character.
According to Wikipedia:
“Black Bolt is the ruler of the Inhumans, a reclusive race of genetically altered superhumans. Black Bolt’s signature power is his voice, as his electron-harnessing ability is linked to the speech center of his brain. Speaking triggers a massive disturbance in the form of a highly destructive shockwave capable of leveling a city. Due to the extreme danger posed by this power, the character has undergone rigorous mental training to prevent himself from uttering a sound, even in sleep, and he usually remains completely silent and speaks through sign language or via spokesperson.”
It’ll definitely be interesting to see how they incorporate this lore into a live-action format, especially because we’ve seen Inhumans (albeit not the Royal Family) before on Agents of SHIELD seasons 2 and 3.
