Yesterday on April 4th, Heath Ledger would have turned 38. It’s been almost a decade since his untimely death however he’s still revered by movie fans worldwide thanks to his fantastic catalog of performances. Whether it was his role in Brokeback Mountain, his heart throb performance in 10 Things I Hate About You or his iconic take of the Joker in The Dark Knight, people everywhere will always remember his name.
Well now Derik Murray has directed a documentary about his life which will be released on Spike TV and it promises to be an intimate portrait on one of Hollywood’s brightest stars. With the first trailer having just arrived you can see just how much Heath loved the industry and how his creative flair was a trait he had possessed from an early age.
With his ambitions lying in directing, he was able to produce a handful of music videos and even lent his hand when directing segments in The Dark Knight. It’s absolutely heartbreaking to see such a talented actor pass at such a young age and Hollywood would certainly be a whole lot different if he was still here today.
I Am Heath Ledger will have its world premiere on April 23rd at Tribeca before airing on Spike TV on May 17th.
