Dark Horizons managed to get a trio of new It photos from the upcoming 2017 film of the same name, and they look pretty cool.
The images come straight from the trailer which is supposed to hit this Wednesday.
First off, we get a look at the Losers’ Club, as they gather around a slide projector in a basement. The scene appears to be replacing the scrapbook sequence from the book and 1990 miniseries, and potentially for the better. And I don’t know about anyone else, but doesn’t it have a bit of a Sinister vibe? The film reels were definitely the best part of that movie, so I think the concept will blend perfectly with It and give us some really disturbing imagery.
Next is a shot of Pennywise standing behind a red balloon. It’s a very pretty and eerie shot, and I think that’s something the genre really needs right now. There seems to be less artful cinematography in horror these days and I hope It delivers on that front.
Finally, there’s an image of Pennywise’s hand indicating that he’s preparing to pounce on the Losers’ Club. And it’s supposedly a very terrifying shot in the trailer. Can’t say I blame whoever says it is, those claws look especially deadly.
If things go as planned, we should be seeing the trailer very soon so hopefully we’ll get an idea of just how good this film will be.
When children begin to disappear in the town of Derry, Maine, neighborhood kids band together to square off against Pennywise (Bill SkarsgÄrd), an evil clown whose history of murder and violence dates back for centuries.
Stephen King’s It hits theaters September 8, 2017.
