In what will hopefully be the last news article about Hugh Jackman’s Wolverine future, it seems as if we’ve finally got solid confirmation that Logan will be his very last.
Speaking live on Facebook Q and A, he answered the question on many people’s lips as to whether or not he’d be reprising his role again. Unfortunately it’s not the answer that people wanted to hear as he shot down any hopes of returning his most famous role for a potential team up with Deadpool.
Jackman said:
“No, and Ryan is currently sleeping outside my house. Look, if that movie had appeared 10 years ago, probably a different story, but I knew two and a half years ago that this was the last one. The first call I made was to [Logan director James Mangold]. I said, ‘Jim, I got one more shot at this,’ and as soon as Jim came up with the idea and we worked on it, I was never more excited. But, it feels like the right time. Deadpool, go for it man, do your thing. You don’t need me.”
This is a change of tune from his last interview with Variety not so long ago, in which he seemed more open to the prospect of teaming up with Reynolds. However after having spent 17 years in the role, it’s no surprise that Jackman would like to move on with his career, especially considering how well received Logan has been so far amongst critics. With Logan hitting theaters on 2nd March 2017, it looks like we’re in for an epic and faithful ending to Jackman’s Wolverine career.
Are you excited for Logan? Are you disappointed he won’t be joining Reynolds in a Deadpool crossover? Who would you like to see take over the role? Sound off down below!
