After speculation that Ben Affleck could be leaving the role of Batman, the actor has broken his silence on the matter.
Earlier today, Matt Reeves was confirmed as the director of The Batman – after talks initially broke down, leading to more and more speculation. Non-stop speculation about this movie.
Well, it turns out Ben Affleck is still Batman, and the actor took the time to welcome his director to the upcoming project:

So there you have it, folks. All those rumors saying that Ben Affleck was leaving the film appear to have been just that. Rumors.
It’ll be interesting to see what those reporting on Affleck leaving the role entirely will have to say. As you may remember, John Campea of Collider had the following to say:
“They’re telling me that Ben Affleck, make no mistake, he does want out. He doesn’t want to to be Batman anymore, is what I was told.”
And he also said something even more negative about the project earlier in the month:
“This is the perfect statement for them to put out – what Ben Affleck read. [But] it’s all bullshit. None of that is real. None of that is true. We have smelled this for weeks and weeks that something was not right. Don’t tell me that it’s become clear that I can’t do both. Really? Just two weeks ago on Fallon, you said you were doing it no problem. It’s become clear that you can’t really give the performance and direct at the same time. Really? Because besides ‘Live by Night’ the last time he did it, the movie won best picture at the Academy Awards. So don’t feed me this bullshit – I understand why you’re saying it, and it is the right statement to put out, absolutely. But we have smelled this coming for a long time.”
It appears that all is well and everything is definitely on track for The Batman. Unless this tweet is just Affleck tweeting for the hell of it and he’s not actually playing Batman. How likely is that?
