A few weeks ago, we told you that (for some reason) Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson is producing a movie about former WWE Divas Champion Paige.
We now have our first look at the actress playing her (Florence Pugh), as well as her first main-roster opponent, AJ Lee (Thea Trinidad, a former TNA Knockout). Scenes were filmed after last night’s episode of Raw went off the air. Check out the pictures here.

Paige (real name: Saraya Jade Bevis) grew up in the wrestling business. Her parents were both performers, who started their own independent promotion when she was a kid. She made her ring debut at the very young age of 13, and her two brothers are both wrestlers as well. She eventually worked her way up to WWE’s developmental territory, NXT, and made her Raw debut at 19. She won the Divas title that same night.
Fast forward a few years, and her attitude and personal issues have stymied her progress. Two suspensions in one year for violating the company’s wellness policy (read: failed drug tests), a relationship with the then-married wrestler Alberto del Rio, and a generally repellent personality have made her persona non grata backstage.
However, if the film (titled “Fighting With My Family” – does that sound Lifetime-ish to anyone else?) generates a decent amount of interest, you can be sure that will change. Vince McMahon can forgive anyone whose presence will make him a few extra bucks.
What do you think of this project? Does seeing the actress in character make the film look better or worse than you expected? Tell us your thoughts in the comments below!
