Here’s some new material for those YouTube videos that compile “celebrities that were nearly cast in a superhero movie”!
In the movie that nearly killed the superhero genre ‘Batman and Robin’, a cameo was made by rapper Coolio, simply credited at ‘Banker’. However, in a recent interview, Coolio revealed that he was intended to have an expanded role in the sequels that never came to be.
Although his expanded role would not have been as ‘Banker’, but instead as Batman villain ‘The Scarecrow’. But as the franchise died after ‘Batman and Robin’, and Schumacher’s sequels never came to be, so was Coolio’s role as ‘The Scarecrow’.
In his interview with the Burleston Star he stated that:
“He was supposed to do the two next ones, he and I didn’t get along that good anyway—I mean he made a terrible Batman movie. But the next villain was supposed to be the Scarecrow. They didn’t do it though. Maybe one day. I’m sure they won’t come calling, though.”
