To say that Zack Snyder’s direction on Man of Steel and Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice didn’t have fans and critics divided – would be a lie.
That’s not to say that some don’t enjoy his direction, as a petition was recently started by our very own Jennifer Huneycutt asking for the director to helm the upcoming solo Batman movie. The petition got a lot of traction, gaining over 5,000+ signatures.
Well, it seems that Snyder has another fan coming from an unlikely place (or so it would seem).
Steven DeKnight, show runner of Daredevil, stuck up for the director – tweeting the following:
Most people get a bad rap on the Internet. I think he's brilliant, and works incredibly hard to advance the language of film. https://t.co/CJQils4A7c

This isn’t the first time that someone from Daredevil has stuck up for The DCEU. Vincent D’onofrio (Kingpin) said that Ben Affleck’s Batman was the best portrayal he had seen of the character:

And while not directly defending The DCEU, Charlie Cox defended Ben Affleck’s portrayal of Daredevil when asked about it:
“I don’t agree with that. I actually really, really liked the film and thought Ben Affleck did a really good job. I think the film is tonally a bit confused [but] I actually really enjoyed it. I think that if you make Spider-Man, and I don’t know much about the other characters to be honest, but if you make Spider-man, for example, you can make a movie for kids and adults and it can have that kind of humor because I think it’s true to the characters for the most part. Daredevil needs to be on a platform like Netflix because the source material is so dark and so complicated and so sinister at times. I think what benefited us so much was that Netflix wanted to make the show with Marvel and we were able to embrace those darker tones.”
So there you have it. The DCEU apparently have some very big fans over at Marvel’s Daredevil.
