Have you ever wondered how much it would cost to become The Dark Knight? You’ll be surprised to know that you can for the mere sum of $41,250 at least, that’s how much it cost one lucky fan at a recent auction. Read on to find out more.
Through Nate D. Sanders Auctions in Los Angeles one bidder walked away with the Batsuit, worn by Michael Keaton in Tim Burton’s 1993 film, Batman Returns. The suit came complete with cape, cowl, leather gloves, utility belt, boots, and additional gadgets. The suit also came with a life size mannequin of Keaton himself, which would be somewhat creepy to have stood in the corner of your living room.
If you think that this seems like a ridiculous sum of money to pay for a film prop, you may be interested to know that the suit worn by Christian Bale in Christopher Nolan’s Batman Begins sold for $250,000 last year whilst the Batpod also went for $400,000.
Batman Returns was the last time we saw Keaton as the titular hero, but you can check out his more villainous side in Spider-Man: Homecoming when it swings into theatres July 7th.
What do you think? Would you ever spend this much money on memorabilia? Do you already own any famous props? Let us know below.
