Jonesboro, Arkansas, is getting on the map in a decidedly negative way with WWE superstars and fans. First, Randy Orton had an altercation at a local gym with a pushy fan who couldn’t be bothered to wait until the end of his workout to pester him for a picture. Their disagreement spilled over to Twitter, making both of them look bad.
And now, we’ve learned that Smackdown champion AJ Styles was robbed while the ‘E was in town. In fact, it was in the middle of his match. He had a black bag in the locker room backstage, and it was gone when he returned from the ring. The bag reportedly contained both American and Japanese money, his iPhone, headphones, a portable TV, and an XBOX One with multiple games.
Per the report:
While 39-year-old Allen Neil Jones of Gainesville, GA performed at the WWE Live event Monday night at the Convocation Center, 217 Olympic Dr., someone stole his cash and belongings.
Jones, who performs as AJ Styles, reported the theft of a black bag containing $1,000 in American currency and $7,000 in Japanese yen.
The culprit also stole an iPhone, a set of Beats headphones, a small screen TV, an Xbox 360, and six Xbox 360 games.
Police don’t yet have a suspect for the theft, so they’re hoping locals will be forthcoming with information. We think it’s safe to say, WWE won’t be returning to Jonesboro anytime soon.
